Finding out about ME
In our busy world we very rarely have time to think about who we are, what we stand for and where we are going…..
Take some time out today and start by thinking a little bit about the person you are.
List some of your strengths and growth areas, your qualities, emotions…..
What is important to you ……
“Who am I “
The face in the mirror
There once were a song called "The face in the mirror" (Kleeblatt Century J)
The face in the mirror – could never ever be me
the vision is clearer – I see myself holding Marie
We could have been happy – together
a king and a queen
the face in the mirror – I fear, it`s only a dream
My ivory tower – so lonely and cold
my money and power – is nothing but gold
too cold – to hold yeah
Food for thought as we meditate on the question, what is really important?
Let us take some time to revisit our goals and aspirations, what is important. Value your valuables – what is truly valuable? The things that pass, change or make us feel inadequate? Or the things that really matter, value in relationships, value in health, value in spiritual growth. Have we placed value on the right things and/or people?
Validation
How do we validate the right things?
What do we use to validate ourselves? Generally speaking, the influence others had on us, including society, peers, elders, teachers, parents, the media and trends.
- Validation of feelings
- Validation of perceptions
- Validation of worth
Self-validation is so closely linked to emotions and emotional healing that we owe it to ourselves to take time out to find out “who am I”?
We build self-confidence, become a go-getter and reach those goals!
To value your own ideas and strengths is to live your own life.
Go ahead – take responsibility of your own life and forget about validation that drive the goals of others.
Forget about waiting for others to validate who you are and what you can and cannot do or achieve.
You were created to be unique – step into that identity.
Be yourself and be happy. Break the chains of validation and become self-accepting.
- Align your mind and actions to step fully into your own identity
- Generate thoughts of positive affirmations and scriptures
- Have the confidence to carry them out
- Focus on not setting standards and goals that are inadequate for you because of external pressures
What are you waiting for - be yourself, fully. As they would say in product manufacturing – “new and improved.”
